I am making a thread that questions the missing emoticon that is the blushing smiley that we used to have on here. I know, I know, petty. However, it was my favourite, and I may very well have used it 1,000 times. It has since been replaced with this monstrosity here:

It does not hold the same deep meaning as it's predecessor. This is a hole in my life that will never be filled. I need it back. Please oblige. Past posts and future ones will never be the same unless some action is taken immediately.

while I appreciate the weight of feeling on this matter, I'm afraid I don't have the right password to FTP to the site server to work out what's going on, I'm afraid.

This (the pass and the smiies) appears to have been changed in the recent-ish upgrade to 4.1.3, forced at least in part by our server being compromised.

Not sure if I can help, but I'll try. It's of deep historical significance to the site and our remaining members that smilies of such power are not distracted from their daily business.

It seems that in the upgrade our smilies were replaced by new defaults, all being PNG files rather than our usual GIF files. Appears that some of the common ones I've tested still have their GIF counterparts on the server, Style never wanting to throw anything away, i kinda expected that to be the case when I cottoned on

A vote, p'raps? Not sure if Style meant this to happen, but if he wanted the new smiles, I'm sure we can come to some sort of compromise with individual ones if they're important to people ^_^

I never understood why the blushing smiley would have its mouth open. I am afraid my fave blush has been included on YaBB SE/SMF forums, but never on AnimeB.

That said, hooray for Style never throwing anything away!! This gives me hope that the moment I least expect it, we even get the wiki references back.

it's a bit of an odd blush. but it's our blush The white set were created by Kei several years ago, if I remember right. It's actually tagged "surprised", rather than "blush". Could explain the open mouth. It's more shocked than embarrassed.
