  1. Who's Pak Doo-ik again?

by , 15 Jun 2010 at 4:42 pm (The 'nana bunch)
Well... that was a turn-up and no mistake!

I thought, right... Group of Death. Portugal, Ivory Coast, Brazil... tough out of those three to see who'll progress. Yeah, PRK is interesting, but they'll be whipping boys and will probably be lucky to get a sight on goal.

A sight they did indeed get. After holding Brazil and frustrating them for close to an hour, the defensive line was finally breached by a fairly flukey goal by Maicon, the Brazilian right back (he'll ...

  2. Group E, etc.

Both Cameroon and Italy seemed kinda neutered today... for the former this resulted in a defeat and for the latter this resulted in an underwhelming tie. Cameroon didn't do much to stop Japan from walking all over 'em, and by the time the Indomitable Lions' teeth came in it was too late. I was on the edge of my seat in the last 10 minutes though, I can't believe none of those shots they were hammering at Kawashima went in.

I'll confess right now, I had to miss most of Italy's match ...

  3. UK is 33rd in broadband speeds

You know, that's really cack. Surely we can improve on that...

Our Culture Secretary has spoken out on the previous Labour government's proposals for a minimum coverage of 2MBps across the UK. The work involved to get some three million extra homes wired up to achieve even this speed would involve a whole lot of road digging.

A national "superfast" network would add to the GDP by some £18bn, ...

  4. Germany breaks the ice, kickstarts the World Cup

    by , 13 Jun 2010 at 4:53 pm
The day's first two game's were kind of unremarkable and were also pretty similar. African team plays an Eastern European team, they wage a stalemated battle until one of them gets a late-game red card, then the other side makes 1 lucky goal to secure a win. I'll give props to Ghana though, they played a decent game and lucky handball or not, deserved the victory.

After that, Germany gave us our first honestly cup-worthy performance, easily outclassing the Aussies. The first couple ...

  5. Pantsu of the Week #8 - Ruru

by , 13 Jun 2010 at 10:06 am (The 'nana bunch)
I thought I'd have a bit more of an audience for this, y'know. I'm still calling for any participation too. Anyone wants to run a POTW next week they can, just let me know in here

This PantSunday has been a little delayed due to the World Cup getting in the way of things, and I didn't want the drawer to get overly untidy. Today we see some neat and suitable uniform pantsu, a tasteful pink, modelled for us by Ruru the trainee witch from Wiz Anniversary. This is an H game I haven't ...
